At FaroPublicAccess, we realize that unexpected changes can occur, and we are committed to having equitable and clear refund regulations. This document provides the circumstances where you may receive a refund for our yacht charter services.
Before confirming a reservation, please examine this document thoroughly. By reserving a yacht with FaroPublicAccess, you are accepting and consenting to these refund conditions.
Standard Cancellation and Refund Schedule
More than 72 Hours Prior to Charter
Eligible for: Full refund excluding processing charges
Processing Duration: 5-7 business days
Processing Fee: €50 for credit card payments
Requirements: Must be submitted through email or over the phone in written form
Within 24-72 Hours of Charter
Eligible for: Half the total cost of the charter service
Processing Duration: 7-10 business days
Processing Fee: €25 subtracted from the refund
Requirements: A valid reason is needed; administrative expenses will be incurred
Less than 24 Hours Before Charter
Eligible for: No possibilities for a refund
Exceptions: Consideration for unexpected emergencies may be made
Alternative: Voucher for the charter may be provided at our discretion
Requirements: Proof must be provided for emergency situations
Weather-Induced Cancellation Policy
Our Commitment in Adverse Weather
Your security is our highest concern. If sailing conditions are deemed hazardous for operating charters by our certified captain, we present adaptable alternatives:
- Full Refund: Granted if rescheduling isn't feasible
- Postponement: Change your booking to an alternative date without extra charges
- Credit for Charter: A voucher that's valid for one year from the initial charter date
Procedure for Weather Evaluation
We base our weather evaluations on the following criteria:
- Assessment of wind speed and course
- Analysis of wave height and maritime conditions
- Check on visibility and rainfall forecasts
- Updates from Coast Guard advisories and alerts
- Judgment on safety from our experienced captain
Timeline for Decision: Choices regarding weather cancellations are determined no later than 4 hours before the planned departure time.
Refund Provisions for Medical Emergencies
Qualifying Emergency Situations
We recognize that health emergencies are unforeseen. The cases below might be eligible for particular considerations:
- Unpredicted illness or injuries requiring hospitalization
- Demise of an immediate family member
- Unexpected military orders or emergency summons
- Court orders or mandatory jury service
- Extreme weather events impeding travel
Proof Required
For processing requests for emergency refunds, the following evidence is required:
- Doctor's note or hospital records
- Death certificate (if relevant)
- Authorized military commands
- Legal summonses or jury duty notifications
- Emergency announcements or travel cautions
Refund Procedure: Refunds due to emergencies will be processed within 3-5 business days upon presenting appropriate verification.
Cancellations Due to Operational Issues
Technical Failures
If the vessel assigned to you encounters unfixable technical issues:
- Alternative Craft: We will endeavor to provide a similar replacement
- Full Refund: If we are unable to offer a suitable alternative
- Partial Refund: If the replacement vessel has a different rate
- Compensation: We may offer additional recompense for the inconvenience caused
Unavailability of Staff
On the rare occasion that certified personnel cannot be provided:
- Arrangements for alternative staff will be made when feasible
- Complete reimbursement if the charter cannot go ahead
- Opportunity to reschedule without incurring extra costs
Procedure for Refund Transactions
Mode of Repayment
Refunds will be returned via the original payment method used for the booking:
- Credit Card Returns: 5-7 business days
- Bank Transfer Returns: 7-10 business days
- Cash/Cheque Returns: 3-5 business days
Fees for Processing Refunds
Credit Card Transactions
€50 charge for cancellations requested more than 72 hours before the charter
Bank Transfer Operations
€25 charge for every bank transfer refund
International Transactions
Additional charges are applicable for international refunds
Policy on Charter Credits
In Which Cases Credits May Be Given
Charter credits may be extended as a substitute to reimbursements under certain conditions:
- Last-minute cancellations (under 24 hours notice)
- Cancellations due to extreme weather
- Voluntary alterations to reservations
- Delays due to operational issues
Terms Associated with Credits
- Timeframe for Use: Credits are valid for a period of one year from the date of issue
- Transfer Restrictions: Credits are non-transferable to others
- Credit Amount: Equivalent to the full value of the charter, processing fees excluded
- Utilization: Applicable for any available charter options
- Expiry: Cannot be extended beyond a 12-month period
Reimbursements for Partial Services
Disruptions during Service
In the event your yacht rental is interrupted or cut short for reasons within our purview:
- Refund allocated proportionally to the unutilized duration
- Credits for an imminent charter of equivalent value
- Complimentary offerings or service upgrades
Interruptions Caused by Guests
If a charter ends prematurely on account of guest behavior or non-compliance with safety norms:
- No refunds for the remaining period
- Full payment is still required
- Potential additional fees may be levied
Process for Resolving Discrepancies
If you object to a decision regarding your refund, the following steps are available:
- Ask for reconsideration by our executive team
- Submit further documents or proof if needed
- Seek a solution through consumer advocacy entities
- Explore legal avenues as provided by prevailing laws

Your refund appeal should include:
- Your booking confirmation code
- Date and timing of your charter
- Cancellation rationale
- Any corroborating documents (if suitable)
- Your chosen method for the refund
Step 3: Assessment and Processing
Our team will confirm receiving your request within a day, assess it in line with our policy, reply with a decision within two days, and proceed with approved refunds following the specified timeframes.
Significant Remarks
- All requests for refunds must be made in written form
- Refunds are conducted in € regardless of the payment currency initially used
- Purchasing travel insurance is highly recommended
- This document may be updated with a month’s notice
- Reimbursements are subject to relevant taxes and legislation
